How to apply for a driving license online in India 2021 | Step-by-Step Guide

Before telling the process of applying for a driving license through an online medium, it is important to know that it is mandatory for you to have a learner’s license. If you do not have a learner’s license, you will not be issued a driving license.

Parivahan Sarathi web portal
  1. First go to the Parivahana Sarathi website and choose your state.
  2. Now you have to click on the Apply for Driving License link.
  3. Now you will be provided with the steps you need to go through to apply for a driving license.
  4. Click Continue to continue the process.
  5. Now for OTP, interconnect your mobile in it.
  6. After this, intercept the OTP on the mobile and then tap on AuthenticateWithSarathi.
  7. Now you have to click on Holding Learner’s License option. Then enter its number and your date of birth. If you are eligible, you can also click on Holding Foreign DL or Holding Defense License option.
  8. Now click on OK.
  9. Now you have to fill the application form and after that choose the date when you can go to your nearest road transport office (RTO) office.

After completing all these steps, you will have to go to your nearest RTO on the due date. Keep in mind that you must also take your original documents and fee slip with you. The RTO will give you a slot for the testing test, which you will have to complete. After this you will be issued your driving license within two to three weeks.
